My Sister

My sister is an amazing person.
Last week, for my Spring Break, she packed up her mini-van with the most precious two little girls in the world and came to Alabama to see Aunt Megan! It was pure heaven on earth! Since before I can remember, I have loved her, looked up to her, and wanted to be like her.
I still want to be like her...someday, I want to be a mama like her. I am blown away daily, watching her love on those sweet girls and teach/encourage them to love each other. Last week, Chloe said, "My mama is your big sister just like I am Claire's big sister." I can already tell that Chloe and Claire's relationship will be very similar to mine and Casey's.
(And enough!!! We don't want any tears!)

I wanted to ask you to pray for my sister and for her best friend. Her best friend (grew up together, college roomates, Chloe's namesake, bridesmaids, etc.) Melissa lost her husband this week in a tragic accident. Her husband Tony, of almost 2 years, was studying and hiking on Stone Mountain on Tuesday afternoon. He never made it home and Melissa started worrying. She finally went to the park and his car was still there, but no one could find him. Wednesday morning they found him at the bottom of the mountain. He had fallen 600 feet. I cannot imagine the shock, unbelief, grief, panic, and so much more that Melissa is feeling right now. Please pray for Melissa and Tony's families as they say goodbye to Tony this weekend.

And pray for my amazing sister as she continues to minister to Melissa.

"And the arms that hold the universe are holding you tonight.
You can rest inside...it's gonna be alright.
And the voice that calmed the raging seas are calling you His child.
So be still and know that He is in control.
He will never let you go.
You can hope, you can rise, you can stand.
He's still got the whole world in His hands."

Megan, You will be a wonderful Mother one day. You have such excellent examples - Casey, T, Miss Ellen and Miss Peggy!

Hi Megan! I finally visited your blog. I've been holding on to your little Christmas pic insert all this time. hehe

I was praying for your friend who lost her husband during that whole thing...the world is small! We live within a couple miles of them. I have a friend here who is a friend of hers. Small world. So, sooo sad!

i grabbed the quote at the bottom of your post to share with my best friend who just lost her daddy suddenly last week. great quote!

hugs to you and chuck!
