Once upon a time, there was a BEAUTIFUL, cozy, little house at 1618 Woodrow Avenue. It is the address of the Carson's first "abode" and always served them so well! It was cool and shaded in the summertime and wrapped it's arms around you with it's gas heat in the winter. The house's glory is it's stunning hardwood floors throughout! With a little paint (thanks to T) and hard yard labor (thanks to Chuck, John, and Jess) this house quickly became home for the newly wed Carsons. Megan probably walked a million miles in the surrounding neighborhoods and Chuck at least a thousand in the yard mowing. We hit up the Sonic around the corner at least once a week and Kroger (around the other corner) has always been our "saving grocer." We planted the tea olive and watched it grow! We personally renovated the kitchen and bathroom. We painted every inch of the place (including the ceiling). We hosted an 18 year old German. We fed high school boys SO often! AND, we entertained our very best friends almost every Friday night with peach cobbler and Mexican Train Dominos.
As it turns out, the Lord asked Chuck and I to leave this "heaven on earth" in the form of 1618 Woodrow just 3 short years after we arrived. As we gathered our things and moved out in May, we heavily mourned the loss of two things: our beloved 1618 Woodrow and our Friday night Domino friends (Just to clear things up, they are MUCH more than just Friday night Domino friends). But our Good Lord, Who is always faithful whether we are or not, had a plan. Turns out--our Friday night Domino friends now OWN 1618 Woodrow and it's now THEIR "little piece of heaven."
As we visited them a few weekends ago, we saw "our" home for the first time as "their" home and OH we had such mixed emotions! Our friends, the new homeowners, have done a wonderful job with the house and it looks AMAZING! Their's something RED in every room....isn't that cool? But as we enjoyed our tour, I honestly had tears in my eyes (not Chuck, just Megan) as I remembered so many great times in our first little house, and then realized God's sovereign plan in passing it on to our dearest friends! The Carson's were beyond blessed in that sweet little house. Josh and Jen, our constant prayer is that you will be too! We love you and LOVE that you are in 1618 Woodrow!
