hail to thee

I had the pleasure of taking a weekend trip to Birmingham a couple of weeks ago. And ohhhh...it was wonderful! My sweet Samford...I miss it so. Isn't it still so beautiful! My friend, Jules and I, spent the afternoon on the Quad and it was just breathtaking...the memories! I am one of those nerds that sits down to read the Samford Seasons magazine the moment that I receive it in the mail. I LOVE Samford University! It's just that simple. In April of my Senior year of high school, I was undecided in my college decision. I wasn't sure that I wanted to leave home. Sitting in Calculus one day, I heard the (almost audible) voice of God telling me to go to Samford. That was definitely the only thing I got out of Calculus that year! Sorry, Mr. Stubbs. I remember when I went to Samford, I was expecting to be homesick....heck, I was in a different time zone...some Georgians would even say I was in another country...Alabama, and Megan is a homebody (well, she used to be...you wouldn't know it now from her moving record!). But as I walked to class that first morning, I had one of those "ah-ha" moments...those moments you remember the rest of your life. I remember calling Mama and telling her that I felt so at home...that I was so peaceful and happy. I didn't have a single second of homesickness and treasured every minute of those glorious four years. Samford gave me my best friends, incredible growth into a woman of God, a passion for discipleship, and a top-of-the-line education. That was the first BIG decision in life that I recognized LOUD and CLEAR God's faithfulness in my life. He continues to be faithful in even the smallest things. Lord, I am so grateful to You, so overwhelmed by Your faithfulness. Please help me to be faithful to You!
