Special Company

Our church had a worldwide children's choir come on Sunday. We were so honored to host two little boys in our home for the night. I was a bit nervous because we have no toys or other little people, but we decided on s'mores and all was well.

Our two, precious little boys were 7 and 8 years old. They were so well behaved, had great manners, were extremely loving, and of course, had endless energy! We had a blast!

We were told that they were able to bathe/shower on their own, so before bedtime, Chuck took them to the bathroom and explained the faucet to them. They decided to take a bath together. We sat in the living room and listened to them as they "bathed." (I'm not sure how much bathing went on, but they did smell good when they came out.) To begin with, we felt like we might have a flooded bathroom, but they eventually turned the water off. At this point, all we heard was splashing, laughing, shouting, etc. Chuck and I sat and listened and laughed. Several minutes later we heard the water start to drain and then....you guessed it....these sweet little boys began to jump and dance in the remaining water. It was such a pleasure to listen to them having so much fun with the water.

They travel through America praising God and raising money for their friends and relatives in their home countries. All the kids come from extreme poverty. For example...clean water is not something they are accustomed to. As a matter of fact, many children are dying because they don't have clean water. Any money that is given is used to drill wells so that the children can have clean water.

It dawned on me that these two little ones would probably have played in that bathtub all night long because it was water...clean water.

As I continue to pray and ask God to expand my global perspective, to increase my passion and love for a world He created, I will be grateful for this "special company" and for the reminder of how blessed I am every time I take a shower/bath. I pray that God will give me opportunities to share that blessing and that I will be faithful to do it!
