Just recently, I read an OT scripture that really jumped out and confirmed all that God has been teaching me. The Lord is speaking to Moses and the Israelites and says, “During the forty years that I led you through the desert, your clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on your feet.” (Deut. 29: 5) Have you ever thought about that? Thousands of Israelites wandered the desert and not one sandal or cloak wore out…for forty years! God is faithful!
Over the last couple of years, I have been overwhelmed by God’s faithfulness in my life. I’m realizing more and more every day that God is faithful…He can’t NOT be faithful. His character…who He is, is faithful! I recall and remember about a thousand situations in which all I’ve had to trust in is His faithfulness and of course God has shown His faithfulness and “saved the day.” A couple of months ago, I had this thought, “Can God say the same about me? Am I faithful? Is my character faithful? Can God look back over the years and say, ‘Megan has been so faithful!’ Can He look at my life today and comment on my faithfulness?” I was struck and deeply convicted about my faithfulness…to my Savior, in my relationships, as a teacher, etc. I started asking God for opportunities to be faithful and find myself often praying to be faithful as I walk through my daily life.
God has been faithful to me…more than faithful and more than anything I WANT to be faithful to Him.
